Ls 650 v.s. Yamaha v star classic

Has anyone had the chance to ride a v star? I am bias towards the Savage because its lighter. I also prefer the clean no extra b.s. chopper look. But the v star gets good write ups in all the reviews Ive read.While the savage never gets mentioned.
